This year’s Nova Scotia sea kayaking Challenge narrowly avoided cancellation due to thunder and lightning storms that ended 45 minutes before the start. Despite the wild weather stalwart paddlers arrived and the Challenge started only a few minutes behind schedule. The course ended this year are The Point in Blue Rocks due to waves in Lunenburg Harbour. The distance traveled was just under 11 kms.

The refreshments on the Railway wharf were a highlight for many as the sun finally broke out. The day ended with awards being given out and prizes, provided by Old Creel Canoe and Kayak, being drawn.

The second annual Challenge was another success with many paddlers setting goals for next year.
