Back To Front Harbour Sea Kayak Challenge
The third annual Sea Kayak Challenge around Lunenburg’s peninsula.
Paddle your sea kayak through some of the most beautiful waters in Nova Scotia!
When – June 2012th at 11am
Where – Starting at the Sawpit Wharf on Lunenburg’s Back Harbour and finishing in the Front Harbour of Lunenburg at the Railway Wharf.
About the Challenge – The Challenge will take kayakers right around the Lunenburg peninsula, a distance of about 18 kms. Kayakers will have to navigate from the Sawpit Wharf towards Mason’s Island then head to Tanner’s Pass. Tanner’s Pass is the narrow strip of water that separates Heckman’s Island from the mainland. After passing under the bridge to Heckman’s Island, people will breeze through Stonehurst West and Stonehurst East toward Blue Rocks. Once past Blue Rocks the course gets on to it’s final stretch, running down Lunenburg Harbour to the Front Harbour. The sea kayaking trip finishes at the Railway Wharf (or Government Wharf) where Peasant Paddling’s office is located.
There will be separate categories for single kayaks and double kayaks.
Registration Fee – $45 per person and this includes a meal, some sway and entry in a draw for prizes. Email or call to register.
The Meal- Will be served on the Railway Wharf, there will be refreshments and prizes will be drawn.
